Soda Jillian, bred by Lindsay and Jan Knight, is by the famous ASH Stud Book Impact Sire, WARRENBRI OMEGA – IS LH and out of an ABBEY – FS HSH mare called MOGGYMILL MINNIE.  Jillian was purchased by Bar Nine Dot Sporting Horses in 2011 after she had finished her polo career.  This solid grey mare was said to be super easy with a lovely temperament and was played by both professional and medium-low goal players, as well as patrons and women…..she was a true all-rounder.  She was notably played under Glen Gilmore in the 2007 Paspaley Polo In The City event, Perth.  Jillian was thankfully offered to our stud by Robert’s cousin, Phillip Hardcastle, Perth WA, when he had finished his polo career and hence, dispersing his string.  We recognised her strong ASH performance bloodlines and thought that this was a fabulous opportunity to add something a little different and new to our broodmare line.

A bit about Soda Jillian’s lineage:

• SIRE: A great campdrafter himself, WARRENBRI OMEGA -IS won the Warwick Gold Cup and in another successful attempt was runner up. He was the winner of approximately 60 open campdrafts before injury forced early retirement.  He was also two time champion working horse at Sydney Royal. Omega was awarded ACA sire of the year 5 times.  His campdraft winning progeny are far too numerous to mention, but they also have been exceptional in other fields such as polocrosse, working classes and challenges.  Soda Jillian is testament to his versatility as a sire; she was bred for campdrafting…..but had a successful career in polo.

• DAM:  MOGGYMILL MINNIE carries ABBEY – FS HSH on her paternal side and when joined with Omega, her progeny (i.e. Soda Jillian) have the successful and well sort after cross of Warrenbri Romeo/Abbey.  Moggymill Minnie has a remarkable 14 registered progeny in the ASH studbook – All of them either sired by Warrenbri Omega or his sire Warrenbri Romeo. 

 

• SOME SIBLINGS: Jillian’s full brother, Warrenbri Kendall, came 4^th in the Ladies Campdraft at the 2004 National Championships and then 5^th in the Open Campdraft at the 2006 National Championships, plus won multiple other campdrafts. Another full brother, Soda Cuba was also a multi-campdraft winner. At the 2001 Dalby sale, a ¾ sister (Warrenbri Romeo/Moggymill Minnie), Soda Marion, sold to Acton Land & Cattle Company for the record price of $49,000. Another ¾ sister, Soda Abell sold at the same sale, 10 years later, for $21,000 to Milton and Christina Jones (of TV's “Keeping up with the Jones's” fame), Coolibah, NT.
